The Metropolitan Police are working hard to tackle these offences, but public awareness and prevention are key. ๐ Whatโs Happening? - Keyless thefts: Criminals use signal amplifiers to unlock and start cars without needing a physical key. - Catalytic converter thefts: Targeted for precious metals, these parts are stolen in seconds. - Smash-and-grab thefts: Valuables left in plain sight attract thieves who break windows to steal them. - Number plate cloning: Plates are stolen and used on other vehicles to commit crimes anonymously. ๐ก๏ธ How You Can Protect Your Vehicle - Use a steering wheel lock: A visible deterrent that slows down thieves. - Install an insurance approved Thatcham Cat S5 immobiliser and tracking device: This is the highest level of security for your vehicle.
